I've been in attendance.Plus Nevada passed new legislation last summer regarding real estate licensees and property managers hiring of licensed and unlicensed workers.

The new legislation requires residential unit that is rented less than 6 months at at time must register with each city/county in the applicable jurisdiction, and apply for a licenses to do Short term rentals.  

What will be interesting for LLCs in general is some of the proposed tax legislation on pass-through entities and how that may affect all of us who utilize LLCs.

Back in the 1980s and 1990s the Federal government was very serious about environmental cleanup and created the Superfund legislation.

Sad that agents are getting twisted into the greed this hot market is bringing and hurting the name of everyone.Does anyone think that this could force CREA's hand and bring down some legislation for investor/agents, agents who fail to explain the assignment clause, or something to limit this specific action that will hinder Canadian investors?

REGARDING Interior Rental Inspections in Indpendence - sorry I got my cities and proposals mixed up.The council voted and it passed - however they said there was nothing the landlords could do, but someone, not sure who discovered that there was a 10 day period where the landlords if they could collect 100 valid signatures on a petition against the ruling, the landlords would then buy 30 days to get several 1000 signatures and force the city council to put the ordinance up to a vote of the citizens and not just the city council.They are collecting signatures - we should have someone at the MAREI meeting listed in the events calendar here on BP who will also collect signatures but you must be a registered voter in the city of Independence.barring that, we also have MO Rep Gary Cross who is a Jackson County Landlord, who would propose state legislation similar to KS that would at least require the tenants consent for the inspection, but this would require landlord support from across the state.

@Leah Bonner     Leah,       In Maryland legislation was passed forbidding talking someone into selling their property who is in the foreclosure process.

Keep in mind the LTB has no government legislative authority to inforce the collection of fines and does not track whether landlords pay fines imposed.

First let me say that the current landlord tenant legislation coming out of WA & Seattle is poorly planned out and short-sighted.
