Most companies do a desktop or limited scope study - more of a cherry picking strategy.

At the advice of my new CPA, I purchased QuickBooks Desktop and it has been excellent.  

It has a desktop version and a mobile app.

If I ever hire someone to handle a task I can just share a report with their activities and they can train up on them by treating them as desktop procedures.

I am a Chromebook/smart phone user, sitting at my desk top is inconvenient, no anywhere access and no collaboration options I have found for my primary users.”

Then too, it's not trivial to print reports like tenant invoices between mm/dd/yy & nn/ee/zz nor a PnL.iCloud & Drobox  are not backup solutions as you can't control either of them an ensure they will be there if/when you need it - - if you can't put your hands on the equipment, you have issues waiting to bite you.Everyone is desperate to believe that portable devices subsumes desktop computers, but they don't.see my profile

Hello folks,I am looking at software to manage my RE and am thinking about Quickbooks Desktop. 

And I took one closet and converted it to a private writing space with a granite desktop and custom cabinetry.I also added complimentary coffee and tea, enough for three days.On occasion I offer free tickets to movies, Moody Gardens, restaurant certificates, etc based on length of stay.Little things like that set my property apart from the others and I pretty much stay booked year round.

It would mean I could access email, calendar, contacts, etc. from my desktop at home and my laptop on the road without moving data between computers and without ever having to worry about back up.I do use OneNote and the money doesn't bother me if it will really adds value over the Office 2007 I use now.

For potential properties I can clip information from websites, track auction end dates, as well as opening bids and reserves.For properties I purchase, I create subfolders:Documents - for contracts and proposals etc.Expenses -  copies of receiptsPhotos - Before, during and afterTo Do list Completed TasksThe software is available online, on my desktop and my phone.
