I met my mentor at the local chamber of commerce (I'm in a semi-rural/semi-urban area) - the Seattle SCORE office has their own building, it's a much larger organization and aligned with several other like orgs.

I would suggest you talk to an experienced real estate agent, a local Chamber of Commerce, and a building inspector with experience around there to get a feel of the area you are interested in.
