I grew up doing this its how my dad got all his leads in the 60's. and 70'show many you can get out is directly related to how big the lots are.like in San Francisico row houses were there is a door every 25 feet you could get them out with great frequency your working a neighborhood with 1/4 acre lots it will be a slow go.My dad got me my brother and 3 or 4 of our friends that wanted to earn 10 bucks on a sat morning and we were the delivery system.. past that he then went to the salvation army and YMCA  early in the mornings when they kick out the folks that flopped for the night  you catch them leaving and offer them 25 bucks to work for the day... they called it passing paper...
