Looks like to the right would be where more cabinets would go and a fridge but it's just blank. The basement it looks like is dirty and dingy.

I still have to run all new trim and trim everywhere.Everything you see in these two rooms is new drywall that I did myself, which is mostly what took so long. This is what the cased openings look like from the other side.I still have to get a plumber in to prep for the sink, dishwasher, disposal and run a new water line to the new fridge location.I also have to get the electricians back in the finish up the Leds under the uppers and trim out the can lights and put in outlets, etc. Then comes the stone countertops.

We have a full sized fridge, an induction oven that fits a 9x13 pan, a 2 burner hot plate and a microwave.

If you have any doubts or want to practice, I would pull the fridge and do the hidden side of that cabinet or maybe try on the back of a cabinet door (with a disposable brush sponge) for practice and to see the effect.

On the other hand, moving the fridge to the left hand wall of the new L shaped cabinetry with some 'trendy' new open shelving beside it, would be much cheaper, easier, and better for both storage and especially the sightline.

Fortunately I've taken into consideration the fact that all doors must be able to open haha.. there will be enough room:)The only thing I'm really moving is the fridge, which is moving to a spot that its actually been in before, so the hookups are there.Today I'll be sanding the inside of the cabinets, painting them, finishing sanding the window frame and hopefully finishing sanding all of the door frames.

I would have boxed in the fridge so the black side isn't showing.

Put some--a little--into lids such as yogurt lids, sour cream lids, etc, along with some dry sugar of cocoa powder and slide them under the stove, fridge, back of cupboards, etc, where kids and pets can't get to them.Shouldn't take long before they're gone.

On the plus side, I often use the great outdoors for extra fridge or freezer space.

I would want the tenant out so I could get the rodent problem under control and get a full scope of the termite damage. That is what I would be concerned with as well as your re-tenant and lost rent costs until you rent the unit out again.Since you own a duplex they have shared walls. You have to make sure the other tenant is clean or the pest control service will make ZERO DIFFERENCE.The reason is even if you put poison down but food is available the pest will leave the poison and eat the food. You have to close off all exterior gaps of the building, keep tree branches away from critters getting in,keep trash in trash cans and away from the building for pick up,clean unit top to bottom, pull out stove and fridge in kitchen and degrease and sanitize. After years of recycling tenants you would not believe what builds up back there that attracts and breeds pests.Good Luck
