For those of you unfamiliar with the sport, the pole vault is a track and field event which consists of running down a runway at full speed with a 13-15 foot fiberglass pole in your hands, jamming it into the ground, turning upside down, and propelling yourself into the air.

Tourism is a big factor in Chattanooga nearly year round, between the aquarium, concerts, sporting events, races/triathalons, conventions, etc. 

I would select a market with a large dense population, a relatively high median income, job and population growth, venues for sports or entertainment and an area near hospitals.

Success doesn't happen overnight; like real estate, sports, and life, it's a long slow process.  

So now we're putting down our roots in SD (she works in Irvine, for a sports technology company, I work in La Jolla for a small asset management firm) and are looking to put some of our hard-earned capital to work in the real estate market. 

I love sports (I'm a former football player) and meeting new people.

There is a certain group on BP that seems to make a sport out of ridiculing people with less experience than them, so I have not been surprised by the tone of some of the comments.

Just cable tv and sports.  

Any reason to come to Pittsburgh (sports, tourism/hospitality, medical jobs, education) is done much better nearby (Philly, Cleveland, DMV/DC, New York, Atlantic City). 

Golf is an upscale, lifestyle sport.
