I'm willing to splurge on an appetizer at lunch now too. 

Make sure to splurge on at least two quality pillows per bed (see if you have a friend or family member or acquaintance who works at a place like mattress firm as they can hook you up with some serious discounts).

If you've "earned" the right to splurge a little, then fine...... but if you are basically borrowing against the only real asset you have to buy a luxury item, then HELL NOBuy the investments...... earn the $$ to pay for the pool while still having enough to keep buying assets.

That's about the extent of my real estate knowledge.How I got here: My day job costs me a 2-hour commute M-F, so I quickly decided to splurge on an Audible account so that I can gain some knowledge while I zone out in SoCal traffic.

While price still matters, I'm much more willing to splurge for a 'high-end' spot in a great location for the few days I'm there as I'm typically splitting the cost with friends. 

I really wouldn't have a reason to sell I suppose except to splurge.  

Especially if that's not indicative of the rest of the neighborhood).Those guys make it bad for the ppl who live there AND the other landlords who own there, because they drag down property values and rental values.I would say anyone buying out of state who can't go visit the properties personally either needs to have their own realtor who will take pictures of every corner, splurge for an inspection, and maybe even an appraisal.

And, the extra cashflow could fund additional properties, splurge type vacations, etc. if you want to continue working. 

Also, if the price difference is only a hundred or two,  we splurge for stainless steel appliances, granted the absolute cheapest ones or used ones, but we do get SS.    

Are they more like department store cards indicating that she is splurging on clothes?
