I'm curious what more experienced investors will leave to finish repairing after they list the property, but before they start to show it (or lease it).I start the marketing about two weeks prior to completion, with an advertised availability date of one week after completion.

Like Scott said, I use a large bank with no fees and also have my (separate) personal account with them so I can keep an eye on both when I log in.

@Sean DillonAt 18, you're in a prime position to start building wealth with low expenses and plenty of time to scale.

However I am not sure its the best investment strategy for someone who is just getting started.

It’s clear you had a sharp eye for opportunity with this duplex, especially given the prime location and potential for adding value through additional bedrooms.

Don't be paralyzed thinking you don't know enough to get started.

If you plan on living there, I would pick the place you want to live, then start investing.  

Major in business (with a real estate focus), start learning through books, podcasts, and investor meetups, and work on building credit and saving money while in school.
