Complete novice in real estate and looking to educate myself.

Hi everyone, my name is Juan and I'm just starting my real estate journey. I have listened to the Rich Dad, Poor Dad audiobook a couple times, but just a few months ago actually stated talking about it with my boss. He just happened to have read that book recently as well and suggested I read The Book on Rental Property Investing by Brandon Turner. That book was exactly what I need to hear as it addressed a point both me and my boss agree with regarding Rich Dad, Poor Dad which is, RDPD does well to help you view money differently, but it doesn't give you a starting point. The Book on Rental Property Investing is great in that it gives you a great stating point. That is why I'm here. I want to educate myself so that I can help my parents a few years down the road. I can't do that without first making things work for myself.

I still have a way to go before I am at a point where I can invest, but my plan is to sort that out within a year or so. If anybody has a go to list of books or podcasts they would like to share in the meantime, I'd very much appreciate that.

Either way, I'm excited to start my real estate journey and will try to stay active in this great community I've found here.
