I'm in an electrical apprenticeship program and will be done in 4 more years of working full time.

Typically, in order to obtain such a license, you must work X number of years under an already licensed Contractor, and/or serve an actual multi-year "Apprenticeship".

There are several opportunities available for volunteers to gain construction experience, including:Local churches or non-profits: Many churches and non-profits have their own construction projects, or may partner with other organizations to build or renovate homes for those in need.Community service organizations: Some community service organizations, such as the Lions Club or Rotary Club, may have construction projects that volunteers can help with.Professional trade organizations: Some professional trade organizations, such as the National Association of Home Builders or the American Institute of Architects, may have opportunities for volunteers to gain construction experience through community service projects.Apprenticeships: Some companies and organizations offer apprenticeship programs that allow individuals to learn a trade and gain hands-on experience in construction.

If you have the time and capital, you can usually get around the apprenticeship requirement by taking the NASCLA level 5 building exam.

These adjustments noted in the IRA include updated energy savings requirements and retrofit rules, new prevailing wage and apprenticeship standards and increased potential tax deductions for energy-efficient commercial properties.

I was talking to a friend of mine when the question of an appraiser apprenticeship came up as a better way to become an appraiser.Has anyone been through this process?

@Joe Villeneuve Absolutely, but they offer apprenticeship programs that allow you to earn a solid income while completing all of your accreditation and a path to much higher income without going into debt.It's not the express lane to overnight success and it is hard work. 

Its a two level licensure system that I haven't really found replicated elsewhere, unless you count apprenticeships.
