Hello all,

My name is Jason and I recently moved back (2nd time here) to the D.C. area with my family. We move around quite a bit, having come all the way from Las Vegas this time. I'm a program manager in a technical field, and have a lot of interest in financial investments (both market vehicles and real estate). I also have a LOT of other hobbies to fill spare time!

We own a rental townhome in N. Virginia, a house-hack from purchase in 2009, bit of renovation, and then it became a rental in 2014. Check out my profile for a couple pics. Additionally, we just purchased a single-family for our primary residence. We intend to make this a long-term home.

Our (wife and me) goal is simple: to become completely financially independent by the time I can retire in 5.5 yrs. Our definition of independence is to have enough income/cash flow to not work at a salaried job (stick it to the man!), and to continue existing at our current standard of living, which we feel is pretty nice. I'd love to establish my own business in real estate and define my own hours and projects to pursue!

I have a background in general contracting/home renovation (no license, but a lot of real-world experience and apprenticeship under my Father and his business partner from 1997 onward). I'm comfortable with flooring, walls, kitchen reno, bathroom reno, and light electrical/plumbing. After having done many, I now refuse to go up on roofs (would hire that out :-), that is literally "for the birds."

I'm looking forward to meeting other members and talking about investment properties, fix-and-flip, and lots of other exciting opportunities!

Jason
