Was it originally industrial and they changed it to R-3 hoping to get rid of the the eyesore after the owner let it go enough to condemn it or has it always been R-3 and no one just ever paid attention?

I had a 720 credit score at 22 so I’m not sure tor age is the biggest issue

I am a newbie to R/E investing and hoping to find my first property within the next 6 months, either single family or small multifamily.

Maybe there is some type of mechanism specific to R/E that helps here?

Good size local banks like BB&T or George Mason should work because they cover the geographic footprint. 

But few have the passion and drive it takes to focus their energy into finding the deals, handling the roadblocks and hearing the "no's", and taking the associated risks on an ongoing basis that is requisite tor building a real estate investing business.
