It was more of a curiosity as I have 2 properties that do pretty well on Airbnb and was wondering if the value of the home is actually more than the comparisons in my area.

I keep all mine in a dedicated savings account that accrues minimal interest.

A tenant or two skips a couple of months payment and the wheels might come off if you don't have proper liquidity.Again, this is just a guess and I'd definitely kick the tires on it to satiate my curiosity if I were you.  

They may have recorded a lien for $1000 or whatever, but with a stipulation for interest to accrue.

No, they don't accrue like those two tools do, but they are about as safe and inflation-free as you can get, and their proceeds would be completely tax-free for higher ed.  

Out of curiosity - how does your DTI look in that current scenario?

Just out of curiosity, what was your first ever STR deal?

Also if someone is in bankruptcy for years the taxes can accrue with very high interest rates and it can add up quickly.
