HI all, I have a rental house with a kitchen that needs to be repainted.

At the extreme end, you or the landlord may have to wash or repaint all the kitchen walls, and ceiling and clean the carpet.

One time a tenant painted the first floor sunflower yellow without my permission and took me to small claims court when I deducted $800 to repaint it.

I used a laminate countertop in the marble design & repainted the old cabinets white and added new handles ....used a groutable vinyl tile floor (cheap) and put in stainless appliances and new kitchen faucet.

Biggest thing is quality of the area and future projected cash flow being affected by poor or gloss over rehabs (paint,carpet,etc.)Just like an old car it is dirt cheap to repaint that thing and make it shine with the tires but what is under the body and hood is what counts.The guts of a house is critical to long term success.

It will haunt you until you repaint the whole place.  

I came back, I do not know if he is using the dehumidifier but the mold was gone, I did send in Maintenance man to repaint around top of shower.  

So if that's not possible, at a bare minimum, repaint the whole place ASAP with paint that contains a mildewcide additive.Good luck, MacKenzie.
