If you are targeting ranges in the 300 to 2000 dollars you can get away with an online for where they enter their CC and be done with it.But when you are targeting abstract numbers in higher ranges, it is absolutely not ideal to do it that way.

True, you can achieve basically the same amount of interest reduction and save many years of time to debt elimination through both the "send in extra payments" strategy and by having a 1st lien HELOC but having the equity available (considered seasoned) at any given time to jump on a distressed property as well as combining many advance strategies such as offsetting HELOC interest onto 0% CC's, using 401k loans, bonuses, inheritances, letting property taxes, insurance payments, savings, your checking account cash sit in the HELOC to work down its balance until any payment is due is very beneficial.

When I lived at Silverado CC in Napa Valley the resort relies on the private owner condo's as there over night accommodation's so folks buy those and they are run like a hotel.. and again its usually break even at best.. however about every 5 years to stay in the hotel program they require you to completely update your condo.. new furniture beds etc etc.
