Every square inch of Florida soil has the possibility for subs and you just have to inspect to see if they like your structure or not.

If you want the pad to last you are going to have to put a base underneath it of macadam (Never heard that word before, googled it and love it).

If they have entered the structure, then, the Termite guy can tell you how much damage and what to do...The pipes in a slab thing is everywhere in Florida because of the salt in the soil and galvanic action from making the water pipes the electrical ground etc.

@Joel Allen When we bought our first property we tore up the 30+ year old carpet and found pretty nice hardwood floors underneath, but in almost every unit it looked like someone had varnished AROUND the edges of a room sized rug.
