Start building a relationship.  

Next is to start building a strong network of local contractors, property managers, agents, lenders, and attorneys—they’re key to keeping things moving smoothly.

Since I already own the land and would be interested in building on it, what’s the first step to see if this is even possible?  

Not essential but I've used it for other things and it's really cool when you are building out a new process, design, or work flow with your team as well.
