It would be like calling yourself a bank if you were a hard money lender.So, even though the word realty isn't trademarked like the word Realtor is, and you wouldn't be in trouble for trademark infringement, you could still get yourself in hot water if someone felt you had misled them into believing you were a real estate broker and that you may have intended to mislead them and part them from their money based on their misconception. 

You should trademark that!

While it takes time, this style would become your trademark, which helps set you apart from others in the real estate industry.

It is not registered or trademarked so I, personally, don't think there is any way to get into trouble by using the word.

That's when I found Chris on a Podcast talking about his trademarked 3 Payday System and I knew I had to investigate further.

The best brand protection is getting a registered trademark, but most businesses are not even close to that point.

sorry I do not remember the name of the person who said a bad name in your profession will get out faster then a good one.But after everything I heard about trade mark I am surpised they even sent a letter back...
