Cathie, I dont know how long you have been on BP, but being as diplomatic and beauracratic as possible when it comes to discrimination in real estate is one of the first things they reach you here on BP.

And the funny thing is...most of the time its the folks who are 3 months behind on the rent or invited 10 other people to live with them...so they set out on a mission because they think we are the bad guys !!! 

I would add that my mission is to buy notes whereby I help homeowners keep their homes with payments they can afford. 

Those are the properties that took the largest hits in rent declines, 20-30% in some instances.In my case my Bayview rentals have not declined at all, and my Mission units dropped ~5%.

Downtown Rside can be very block by block (1st street to 10 street), but they are definitely adding a lot of new things to main street and mission inn area.

I own vacation rentals in Mission Beach (San Diego) and broker sales in this market to investors.
