(I live in a small rural Midwest town) duplex is paid off only pay taxes and utilities, upkeep etc. last I knew it was worth around 150-175k that was before a new school, sewage and fiber optics.

I will not confirm or deny the company(lol) but I essentially run the fiber projects for communication networks wired, and wireless for the NYC area.

Currently seeing an increase in tenants doing government infrastructure work (soil remediation, fiber optic networks underground, windfarms).

Fiber optic is available for one of my rentals.

We did find soft fiber board walls in an attic once but no idea about soft foam???

If it is starting to wear, look at encapsulating it so anything friable is not releasing fibers into the air.

The problem with asbestos is when you break it up and the fibers become airborne. 

If you think about it cheap laminate is often very thick, but it's made with pressed fiber board underneath with a low quality wear layer.

Alternate options considered:1. cut the fiberglass bathtub from the bathroom upstairs to access copper pipes - need to get someone for cutting a hole through fiber glass and fixing it back up after the copper pipes are replaced.2. cut the drywall in the bedroom upstairs adjacent to the bathroom - the bathtub and copper pipes are deep inside might still make it harder for plumber to access3. pull out the master tub, remodel and rebuild the bathroom upstairs.
