Does it have, or can it be made to have, an entrance separate from the rest of the house?

I'm looking to purchase a home near the Anschutz medical campus and convert the basement to it's own 2 bed 1 bath unit with a separate entrance.

The basement to the property has a separate entrance so we are able to have a living space completely private from where our AirBnB guests will be staying.

I purchased my first home in Eagle Mountain and built the home with an ADU for the basement (separate entrance, thermostat, etc.).

Line up some brick and gravel and make a walkway to the front entrance 

This is a 3 bedroom ranch with an in-law suite in the finished basement (1 bedroom + office space) that has a separate entrance.

.- Duplex is on a corner lot, i.e. they have their own main entrances on two different streets (but the address is on one street)- Utilities (Water, Electricity, and Gas) are separate- Two units are connected by garages- Lot size is around 7800 sq ft- Location - San Jose- One is a 3/2 and the other is 2/1Appreciate your help.

The tenant would have their own private entrance (rear of the house), parking (1 spot in driveway + road parking also available for guests and whatnot), their own laundry, as well as their own outdoor patio area in the backyard.

Currently the entrance way to the upstairs unit has access to the basement which is shared to both units.

several short-term rental insurance companies wont cover one of my buildings because they had a hallway and a common entrance!
