I am in the same boat in Detroit tenants have not paid in 6 months, Trumps CDC eviction moratorium is still in play. my lawyer said it's just a waiting game at this point. the court here is seeing cases at a very slow rate. my tenants have reached out to Michigan's Eviction Diversion Program but the program has not responded to me about anything. keep your head up !!

Our lease is pretty iron clad and always have everything spelled out, but sometimes those Tenants think they know the law better and they would say the "law" will trump our lease...I always deduct according to the lease.

@Donald BatheIf you are both on the lease then technically neither one of you can break the lease.unless you had some type of morals clause in the agreement between the two of you, then neither party is forced to move and have a contract to fulfill.
