Maybe that "inaction" of not buying is actually the "action" of raising cash and being patient?

If your PM is unable to demonstrate their process to your satisfaction then I suggest you either help train them to do better or find another PM.People turn their money over to investors all the time.

So enjoy it and be persistent, and patient.

In my state there is boilerplate language in the contract stating that if there is damage after the inspection but before close, the seller must repair to the buyer satisfaction.
