(I still disagree with government intervention. ;-)) However, I don’t sympathize with people who are afraid of “transients” (their words not mine).

Is there a critical mass each of us inevitably reach where we need some outside intervention; such as a mentor that can help us re-purpose that slow ship into something that can cut through the water more effectively?

So the argument is a straw man argument because no negative consequence has occurred.I see plenty of government intervention into checking occupancy on long term rentals. 

It can also mean that the human waste (read 'fecal'), usually from long-term occupancy from squatters and vagrants has caused the property to be deemed uninhabitable without intervention.

For example, many high paid professionals have trade conferences: physicians (especially cardiology, surgeons, radiologists, etc), attorneys, engineers, entrepreneurs, and so many more.

It's very hard to break it for them, that's why municipal intervention is best and almost always their unit will be a fire hazard with all the stuff, especially if they hoard in the kitchen area.

I've lived through the declared "Cold War" (that continues to this day despite what folks say), through Granada, through the Communist Insurgency in Thailand, through Shaba II, through part of the Lebanese Civil War, through the invasion of Grenada, the bombing of Libya, through the Persian Gulf War, through the Invasion of Panama, through the Gulf War (again), through the intervention of the Somali war, through the intervention of Haiti, through the Bosnian war, through the War in Kosovo, through the war in Afghanistan, through the Iraq war (again), through the war in North-West Pakistan, through the Libyan Civil war, through the war on Isil, through the war in Afghanistan (again), and through the (current) Yemeni civil war.How is this not business as usual?

I am a bit surprised I don't see bunch of terrified landlords exchanging their sentiment here on Biggerpockets in regards of this aggressive intervention in investor's business and free spirit of american market..

I can only imagine the frustration that you may have been feeling especially seeking authoritative figures to help resolve the issues with a lack of actionable intervention.

Or alien intervention.
