Thank you for your response.I do not have the option of getting cash as the dealer sold it to the charity at dealer cost doing the fundraising, and then the charity transferred ownership to me.I can afford it, I am not rich, but I do not have any mortgages or car payments to pay.If I had won 7k cash I would not have wanted to buy one.

Everyone missed the true potnetial legal issue: OP coming dangerously close to admitting that he has acted as a fund raiser for his son in law who may be dealing a security: ie connecting him to investors for a fee, with no mention he has registered as a broker dealer with the SEC?
