Now gas water heaters have an electric spark kinda thing and when they replace them, they have to run electric to it for the igniter (or whatever it's called, I'm not a plumber).

The only way, by observation and asking repair, you get a new one is if it is an obvious life-safety issue (eg furnace has cracked line and it's spewing out CO).Nothing against them since they did repair a old Viking gas stove in the house, but I was lucky and had the one guy that had the right igniter.

No electric probably means no heat (blower or igniter) for both units.You may only have 90 or so more days until you start to get freezing temperatures.If your repair is going to be a while, you might want to consider weatherizing the water system by draining it.Also if you used LVT, read the materials that came with it.The one's I have seen have a temperature range to keep it at, and the ones I have seen out of that range have wrinkled to some extent.

The only thing he hammered home was that I should take the 1-day "Ignite" class - which turned out to be nothing more than a huge pitch for the 8-week BOLD class.
