In one of our boarding homes during holiday season I always brought stacks of towels over and left a bucket full of cheap bars of soap and also a huge box of toilet paper.

Shower curtains, towels, soap dish in baths and usually a cheap plant.  

Like when painting anything you have to get all the soap scum and other contaminants off the tub surface and this will require the most time.

But we've never seen the kind of appreciation that can occur in places like CA. Still
