After I moved in the neighbors knew what I had paid because it was in the newspaper. 

Look at the newspaper, Zillow, Craigslist, and other sources to see what comparable rentals are renting for.

So I placed my very first "we buy houses, any shape any condition...etc. etc." in the newspaper and the first call I get is from a lady that asked me... can you tell me a little bit about your program?

Also avoid advertising in the local newspapers as they are too expensive and get low/no results for your costs.

Craigslist is the best option to search for potential buyers and sellers in our market.All the local "Penny Saver" advertisement newspapers are dead and the local paper classified section has more Lost Dog ads than real estate ads!

I would take a picture of it with todays' newspaper showing the date.

Most of the thicker stuff will not telegraph imperfections with the flooring below.

Newspaper ads and direct mail have given me better results.
