We normally run conduit OUTSIDE the building, unless there is an easy chaseway to use through the first floor.As to thermostats - Unit mounted stats are the best and cheapest and easiest.

I have a California real estate license, but statted back in 2003 as an investor, flipped few properties, I originated loans in 2005 & 2006, worked with sellers listing their properties, working with buyers purchasing REO's last year and this year, now I want to focus in Buying Real estate Notes directly from Lenders.
