Trying to figure out how to elegantly do this since I do not want to have the space go to waste...

Instead, I paid for 100% of all other "joint" expenses, such as groceries, car insurance (but not his car payment), dining out, vacations, etc.  

It has a small kitchen and a 3/4 bath with no dining area, but it works.

Water flooded the dining area, living room, kitchen, laundry room of my ground floor condo.

It also screws with the visual dimensions of the property.One unit that I'm very familiar with, the agent added a large dining room table near the kitchen and in another pic added a large couch and end-table in the living room pic.

The idea is to provide beds, desks in each room, a dining room table, a couch, and hook ups for tv’s.

One unit is a three bed one full bath with kitchen, living room and dining. 

I have closed off rooms and put a blanket up between the dining room and living room to help keep 1 room warm.

I want an all new kitchen from soup to nuts, new bathroom, new hardwoods in living room and dining room, refinish original hardwoods in 2 bedrooms, paint, replace wood paneling in 2 rooms with sheetrock/mud/tape/paint, make 2 existing doorways a little larger, frame half of basement/drywall/outlets/carpet.2.

That evening, we took the spray to every crevice of every piece of furniture (bedroom, living room, dining room, office) and cabinet.
