Sure in a named storm event like Harvey, banks will grant some relief but even that wasn't enough for some folks.I think you need to understand if the property flooded ONLY during Harvey or if it flooded prior to that.

There are costs involved, and you really have to look at where those costs break even with the payment relief. 

.* trimming trees and bushes away on one side of house* Ungrounded outlet or non working GFCI at 5 locations with recommendation to upgrade/fix GFCI* Missing outlet covers or live wire/unsecure wire in 3 places* Slow drain in one bathroom tub* Extension at pressure relief valve in water heater within 6 inches above the floor.

If getting up into some serious volume, an s-corp tax designation can help with some SE tax relief.

Having this license gives a big relief in terms of not waiting for an agent to show you a house and write your offer ( You can do all this yourself ) of course this comes at a price but what's easier in life ?
