Typically, I have the termite company do any chemical treatments and I have my guys repair any framing, etc as I can do it cheaper than their bids.

I don't say all of that so harshly to be a total buzzkill or sound like a jerk at all.

Unfortunately, the brass Kitec fittings allowed a chemical reaction to take place which eventually weakened the fittings causing them to fail.

If enough late fees stack up, then they get an eviction notice.It may seem a bit harsh, but I don't have time to chase them down for rent.  

Sometimes legislative bodies will write an initial draft of a bill with super harsh restrictions and then lessen the restrictions in response to public backlash and in an effort to pass a bill.

The 400 sq ft house had an estimated 25,000 cockroaches and they spread quickly and took months to get rid of.I had to pay for the neigbors cockroach bills because when the chemical was applied the cockroaches started invading the neighbors homes.

I would say some harsh words are in order...

Not to be harsh, but I think you fear is mostly unfounded... but carry a side by side shotgun if it makes you feel better.

If you live in an area where the winters can be frigid and harsh, you probably dealt with this before.
