From an investor point of view.. why not do a conventional loan for $250.. 20% down $50,000 for your home ( long term investment ) than go find another house east Dallas, garland, mesquite, balch springs and buy a $80,000 cash rental property.

HI Steven,I currently have a project going in Garland, but looking to go to other areas of DFW.  

In some parts of east dallas, and maybe parts of tarrant county, You can try garland and mesquite also but they will most likely need work!

I'm focusing on Garland and Mesquite for now and down the road I might include south Dallas on my list. 

I am absolutely interested in multifamily properties too, but couldn't really find many in the areas of Dallas I am looking at (Frisco, Richardson, Garland, Mansfield) which is why I decided to focus on single family houses to start.

Hey All,I'm looking for the best way to find a small multi-family in the North of Dallas, TX area (Richardson, Garland, McKinney, Frisco, Princeton, Melissa, Allen, Plano, Murphy, Irving, Wylie, Sachse) to move my family into while house hacking.

With this price range I can only buy on the east side of Austin and for Dallas I am interested in the areas of Fort Worth, Garland and Mesquite.

I've been trying to narrow down the search but I'm still analyzing properties in several different areas - North Dallas, Little Elm, Garland, Plano, Richardson, etc.
