EXCEPT if the girlfriend is on the lease, and there is a "Jointly and severally' clause in the lease (fyi, should be in all your leases).If the girlfriend is on the lease, and there is the above referenced clause, then BOTH are on the hook.If not, then the owner better get a move on and start an action against "Jane Doe and all others in occupancy".I am NOT an attorney, am not offering legal advice, but am speaking only from my own personal experience.
