I have kids your age and the doubt they are expressing to you is that they have been watching you your whole life so they have a perspective about you that only they can see.  

I just wanted to express that I want to learn as much as I can on my own, while also taking advice from others before I make my first purchase.

However, we built rapport with this homeowner over a few months and they expressed their desire to exit.

The owner recently contacted me and expressed his desire to sell the house and offered it to me.
