It doesn't protect against other individuals infringing on those rights.That being said, I echo the common sentiment that posting "no gun" signs makes you/your property a target, and people that would use a weapon to harm others without justification will possess them anyway.

@Todd Powell while I agree with your sentiment, the reality is we can complain and fight change or we can figure out a business model that allows us to survive in the changing economic climate were tenants are asking us to do more for more people with less.
