Big fan of diversification.2/1 less people living there, less wear and tear.

Their main reasons remain immigration (and living in an area with good climate and fresh air), education for their child (as a good range of great schools) and diversification of their assets (better value for their money compared to many cities in China).

I am a pretty technical person and understood very early on in my life and career the importance of investing, the effects of compound interest, the value of diversification, etc. 

Like you I like diversification

Diversification is a sure way reduce the risk. 

In that sense it's the most fixed piece of the income on a property since it doesn't fluctuate or require assumptions.I also think of Realestate as more like "bonds" in a traditional stock portfolio- a form of diversification  of an over all investment portfolio that includes stocks, Realestate and cash (personally I'm not interested in bonds at this point in my life).Thoughts welcome.

Now that my brewery is off the ground, and diversification of income have begun- I am looking at properties.

But I’m not one to rely on one source of income and require diversification so then there would be a required large bundle in index funds... prob still some semi active small business earnings to have a third income/wealth stream.

A 401k invested in stocks won't achieve the returns of many real estate investments, but it is a more passive investment that can help build wealth and can be part of a diversification strategy.
