The investors from the Series A round to the recent Series D are all a whos who of the tech scene include the founders of Box, Path, Redditt, PayPal and many others as well as major VCs like Khosla, Y Cominator, SV Angel and others.

They toted duffels stuffed with millions of dollars in cashier’s checks made out in various denominations so they wouldn’t have to interrupt their buying sprees with trips to the bank, according to people who participated in the auctions.Similar scenes played out in Phoenix, where the foreclosure rate hit 5% in late 2010, and in Las Vegas, where it nearly reached 10%.The big investors accumulated tens of thousands of houses around those cities and others, including Dallas, Chicago and all over Florida, then got to work sprucing them up to rent.

The social and cultural scene is great.

I haven't totally figured out the complete gameplan yet but I want to be in the commercial real estate scene by around year 3 or 4 and scale up to around 100 units at a time but I'm at a start. :)

I'm very new to the real estate scene but have done a ton of reading including books, blogs, forums, podcasts, and more.
