mold is a serious issue, and we have cold winters and warm summers up here, i was in a home recently that stenched of mold.There are different kinds of mold, and that is an issue in and of itself, personally I don't want to deal with any mold odors at all.I would much rather list or purchase a property which is owned by a homeowner/investor than one that has been forclosed, that's where I'm at with forclosed properties right now, yet that could change as my knowledge increases.

I am sure your not, but 10 years from now, you don't want to be sitting around and Thanksgiving and someone is grumbling about it!!!

Concrete is porus so it can absorb odor.

We have seen it recommended that walls & ceilings be washed with special soap and/or vinegar and lemon water to kill the odor.

We had 2 other crews at this site doing other work that were grumbling about this guy, but had to go and see for ourselves anyhow, and because some subs say things to get others in trouble.

One thing we did discover is (this property doesn’t have a basement it’s on a slab), because of the pet urine soaking into the concrete after cleaning, bleaching… we sealed it with Kilz oil based sealer to lock in/out the odors and ran my Ozone machine for a month to help with the smell.The Bear Paint distributor for Home Depot said we should have used water based Kilz and not oil based.

He quickly ended the meeting, grumbling something about 'no income' and 'theory'.
