Two stories to share...ONEI have a friend that has a fractured condo.  

Before you say 'you should have the money to get into a contract' I normally wouldn't be in this situation but I've just closed on a property that was all cash 2 weeks ago and a friend calls me on a property that's truly an amazing deal that I want to get into contract (has stable tenants renewing contracts above market, I can get for under market).

The beauty of STRs is that you can invest in them anywhere there is an STR-friendly market. 

Greatest advise I could give is tell all of your friends and acquaintances that you, after a lot of thought and consideration, have become a real estate investor.  

I have a friend that recently purchased a 6 bed 3 bath property there and uses it as a short term place via Airbnb.

I have a friend who works for a well-renowned construction company in our town who has offered to be our general contractor at a discount (only charging us 8% vs. the standard 15%) and "teach me the ropes"/make the right introductions so that I can repeat this on my own in the future. 

My friend @Andrew Bosco specializes in medium term rentals (it should be similar furnishings to STR) and has a pretty sweet checklist that he utilizes for furnishing the property.

I have only 3 doors now but I'm getting more soon.Some one mentioned REI Hub so I'm looking for some user reviews and other suggestions that you may have experience with.I downloaded the free 30 day trial of REI Hub but I think it will take more time to set up than the help it will provide.

Again, some of these more "professional mentors" are the face and when you are in their program, they have their "team" interface with you day in and day out.
