While I would not recommenced going into Baltimore City due to high crime, population decline and high property taxes, there are a few affordable sub markets in the surrounding area, not far from you, which are supported by a stable and diverse employment base.If you look in Anne Arundel County in markets such as Glen Burnie, Ferndale and Pasadena, you will find opportunities.

This is just my opinion, but I feel it has everything that anyone could want, and very close to everything (the beach, downtown, riverside/avondale, San Marco, beaches, St John's town center to name a few things that you can get to all within 15+/- minutes!

While riverside looks well established,  there is evidence that it became that way through a wave of gentrification as some houses here and there look neglected,  but again all the construction shows that such properties are being rehabbed.
