Officially, he has not put this diagnosis on paper but has written that she "needs help making cognitive decisions, etc.".The lawyer who did the paperwork died and my dad has no record of the notes and the original agreement.

Keep in mind that for disabilities based on certain medical conditions (PTSD being a major one) the VA has a nasty habit of requiring the younger veterans to undergo periodic testing to make certain they continue to have this diagnosis; if they decide they have "improved" they will attempt to reduce the disability.
