Disabled tenants in the hood
How many of you investors that invest in c and d areas are blown away by how many folks in the area are on disability ? I guess I always knew there was a lot of people in these are with Mental issues and that fraud was rampant but wow ! It is getting worse or the guidelines are easing up .
It’s really quite Shocking when you see dozens and dozens of strong young people on disability apply for your apartment unit . This is apparently a huge problem in this country that I think a lot of people don’t realize is happening . They must just give it to anyone if they can sit up and fog a mirror ! Pretty sad state of affairs .

Many people on disability are mentally ill - and their illness is so severe that they are unable to hold a job. Others have severe physical conditions; a neighbor of mine is 58 years old. He looks healthy, tan, and fit - and he's dying. He has a heart disease (genetic) that has resulted in 20 stents and as many hospitalizations in the last year - and it will kill him sooner versus later - unless the early on-set of Alzheimer's that he has too - gets him first. He has been given a "death notice" of "now to 3 years"...and he looks fine.
I'm sure there are a lot of folks who take advantage of the system and may that big karma bus run over them. But most disabled folks suffer twice - once from their illness - and another from people judging them as deadbeats because their not wearing their disability.
