And that's not even mentioning how disruptive and disrespectful some STR guests have become, nor the constantly evolving and restrictive rules imposed by the STR platform, nor the fact that we're at a market maximum in terms of valuation, nor the fact that I don't plan to stay in California much longer.With all that said, if I was a whale planning to stay in California I'd spend the money to fix it up, combine the 2 top floor units to make it a 2/2 master suite, reinforce the roof structure and add easier access from inside because the flat roof has a 180 degree panoramic view of downtown from the Coronado Bridge to Balboa Park. 

When issues do arise (and they will) it's much easier (and cheaper) to replace a standard window than say a huge panoramic window (as an example). 

This maritime setting is picturesque with panoramic views of the ocean, rolling fields and Smutty Nose Island.

In so many deals, I come across other investors who look at deals through a scope instead of a panoramic camera.

I could work out of my house off the Columbia river with a panoramic view of the mountains.

Here is a quick panoramic I took so people could get a sense of the room.  

If a person moved a lot of dirt, you could get a panoramic view, and you might see Catalina Island with a telescope, of course if they remodel the house in front of it to a two story... it's gone!

And, the panoramic views of Puget Sound and the sunsets are stunning. 

The neighbors across the street had no clue that the lot was this big, nor were they aware of the panoramic view.

There are some gems of antiques here.Above the attic is a Belvedere which gives a panoramic of the city - at the time the house was built the owner would have been able to observe both the dockyard and, later, his cotton mill from here.There is also a 2-story plus walk-out basement carriage house (800 ft^2 / floor) on the property which could be turned into a triplex - once you cleared all of the old tack and antique furniture out of it.It was like a trip back in time - the grandeur of the place was impressive.The house - future?
