Not sure if this is the case in all provinces because Catalunya, especially the Barcelona city government, is quite left and making it difficult for investors. 

My wife and I relocated recently, and we are starting real estate in another Province, so we need two years of proof of income to qualify for a conventional mortgage.

Most tenants won't move over an increase of $25-50 (assuming rent is over $1000).As an example, I've increased the rents on one place the max every year for 4 years allowed by the province (we have rent caps). 

Born and raised in BC but thinking of investing out of province for my first investment rental property.

I'm currently looking at investing in both provinces. 

Although the series LLC structure has been available since 1996, and has expanded to 9 other states/province; it is still relatively uncommon.

For either city, Alberta is a pretty landlord friendly province, if you're planning to buy a rental property.
