I love that you kept the vintage charm, like the detail over the sink, but updated it.

I think the Dale City section of Woodbridge is actually a hidden gem.  

Currently, the Bay Area is highly competitive and finding homes are like gems being sold for over asking price from about $100k-200k.

Otherwise, pursuing "hidden" gems through mailings, tax/foreclosure auctions, knocking on doors, etc might find you the right property.  

Rossmoor in particular is a hidden gem which I know especially well.

You can't do anything with the property until all of that is done and then you may find you bought a house with a major foundation issue, water in the basement, something that should just be torn down or a gem.  

I was thinking I really found me a gem.

In fact a lot of answers i have been getting to my questions have that gem in it.
