Flatwork would preferably be sloped a minimum 2% away from the house.In regards to concrete, any overlay thinner than 1 to 2 inches is generally going to have issues with cracking and spalling off.

From what I understand,  one of the main differences between thicker and thinner planks is that thicker planks can be made to "float" over the floor after installation.
