I have never been a fan of white cabinets but personal preference.  

Can someone recommend a few places where I can find cheap kitchen cabinets and flooring (laminate/pergo) in the Oakland/East bay area of California.  

Some updating in the kitchen sink and baths included new granite countertops and Custom vanities and Cabinets.

I agree with others, you definitely need new paint, flooring, and depending on the kitchen, I'd paint the cabinets and put in new knobs. 1b-  I think you need to know your area, and the type of renters there.. 

I'm trying to decide on a theme for my rental kitchens, I use white cabinets, and jamocha granite countertops because they look nice and there cheap.

I used that Rustoleum cabinet transformations kit came out pretty nice this is the before picture below This particular bathroom was just a small half bath the other 2 are full baths and need alot more work 

I'm always in a minority but I think the blue tile is retro pretty ...is there room for a sink and cabinet ? 

The previous landlord didn't even patch the ceiling, instead they just nailed cabinet doors to the ceiling to cover it up (which helped me a lot in negotiating when I just had to take those off).
