Our location was 14 miles from the Utah Trail entrance to Joshua Tree and we had an outdoor shower and two porta-potties.

If you decide to paint, which is what I would do in your situation, if you ask for a glossy outdoor porch paint (oil based) it will go on nicely and leave a smooth surface that is easy to clean.

Re-roped, repaired and/or replaced (when needed) windows and screens, installed smoke and CO2 detectors, installed basic new or newish appliances, new "plush" carpet tiles in the bedrooms not the crappy indoor/outdoor stuff.

Now I think it's hilarious that I called the cops over this past summer for some kids knocking over my outdoor flower planters.

My home is in a great neighborhood, walking distance to OCC's downtown, and a 10-20 minute drive to great outdoor hiking and mountain use.The size of my home is 866, the lot is a little over 5,000 Sq Ft.

In any case I did find a couple properties that I felt matched what this property could be with excellent renovation along with capturing the amazing landscape and outdoor space this property has - not sure if you were able to see the actual address.  

Clotheslines, hammocks, outdoor showers, outdoor seating/eating spaces, and bug repelling torches/candles (preferably torches so they can't be moved to areas where they become fire hazards) are all good options for outdoor amenities.
