It did require a Z Wave hub, but there is no ongoing cost or subscription.

Just bought a single family in upstate NY (Maybrook), and I am considering doing STR at least until the spring when it is a better time to list .I am looking for an STR managing company to do it A-Z,  any suggestions or pre-cautions welcome  

I hate posting ads on zillow, because normally within a day or so, it will come up on FB with someone commenting "contact the owner at X/Y/Z" they are always creepy, because they copy everything identical, except the contact info.
